Method
Exactly how we check what the AI says
Method in use since June 2026 · example data from July 1, 2026
Every number in a CrediGeo report comes from one repeatable procedure: we ask ChatGPT the question your customers ask, five separate times, in fresh sessions, and count who gets named. No proprietary score, no black box — this page is the whole method, so you can judge it (or repeat it) yourself.
What exactly do we ask ChatGPT?
The question a real customer types, like “best kitchen and bath remodeler in Boise, ID” — not marketing phrases. We use the head question for your trade and city, the one with the most buyers behind it. The wording stays identical across every run and every month, because the moment you change the question, you can't compare the answers anymore.
Why five times?
Because ChatGPT gives a different answer every time you ask. Same question, same city, five fresh sessions — the answer list shifts run to run. A single check can make any business look visible or invisible by luck. Five runs separate the businesses the AI consistently recommends from the ones that surface once and vanish. In our checks, that difference is stark: many businesses get named exactly once across five answers, while one or two names appear in all five.
That's also why we never talk about "ranking #1 in ChatGPT" — there is no stable ranking. We count mentions across repeated checks, we date every claim, and we phrase results as what they are: "named in 5 of 5 checks on July 1, 2026."

What do we fix?
The AI doesn't invent its recommendations — it reads the public record about your business. In the checks above, ChatGPT's own citations pointed at Houzz profiles, Expertise-style "best of" listings, local directories, and the businesses' own websites. So that's where we work:
- Your website: making sure it plainly answers what a homeowner asks — services, area, proof of work — in text the AI can actually read.
- The sources: the BBB-, Angi-, Houzz-type listings and directories the AI cites, made complete, consistent, and current for your business.
- Review signals: the volume and recency patterns the AI's sources reward — with an honest ask-your-customers process, never fake reviews.
What we will never promise
A guaranteed spot in the answer. AI answers move daily and can't be bought, and anyone guaranteeing you "first place in ChatGPT" is selling something they don't control. What we control is the work and the measurement: the fixes get done, the same check runs every month, and the dated results land in your inbox — whichever way they move.
